Stack's Annual African American History Trivia Challenge

Dallas Mavericks guard Jerry Stackhouse sponsored his fifth annual African American History Trivia Challenge through his website (www.jerrystackhouse.com) during February in honor of Black History month. The challenge began on Monday, February 5th and ended on Sunday, March 4th.

Each Sunday evening in February, five Black History trivia questions were posted on Stack’s website.  Fans were able to submit answers to the trivia questions all day from the time they were posted until each Sunday before noon. Each person who answered all the questions correctly was entered into a drawing to receive an item autographed by Stackhouse. The winners of the drawings were: Michelle Trevino, Maurice Wilkes, Lawson Powers and Latanya Lee .

Stackhouse began the trivia contest five years ago to educate people about black history. He was an African American Studies major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Stackhouse was the first Tar Heel basketball player to leave UNC after completing only his sophomore year to join the NBA.  He continued his studies toward his bachelor’s degree through summer classes and graduated on December 18, 1999, during his fifth season in the NBA.

Stack's next online contest will be his annual Mother’s Day poetry contest in May.
